Parker - History
Parker Hydraulics was formed in 1975. Selling bulk hydraulic hose, couplings and hose assemblies for the OEM and replacement market. Early premises were at Scott's Yard, Ber Street in Norwich and then Curtis Road. 1977 saw the beginning of the partnership with what is now Gates Hydraulics Ltd, with Parkers being one of the first companies in the area to promote the principal of hose and coupling compatibility. During the eighties the company continued to grow taking on more staff and diversifying into supplying a complete hydraulic package. In 1988 Parkers moved into its present 6000 square foot warehouse at Ashbourne Estate on Mile Cross Lane. 1995 saw the arrival of pneumatic products into the range and this was strengthened further when a partnership was formed with Festo Automation, leading to a change of name to include Pneumatics in the title in 1996. With increase in demand from customers for complete turnkey packages, Parkers became distributors for IMO Electrical equipment which then naturally progressed towards supplying control panels and complete automation solutions.
